If we could pasture them traditionally, we would. We care about our birds' safety first and foremost, so we provide our Jumbo Coturnix quail secure housing raised on skids. As part of our regenerative farm efforts, we move the skid structure across our pasture as we do with our chickens or ducks. This practice not only allows them access to fresh air (as opposed to being enclosed in a barn), but also allows their manure to drop naturally to the ground and act as fertilizer for our pastures.
